HOUSEWORLD WILL RETURN

SONGS OF HOUSEWORLD

We’ve written a lot as we prepare our upcoming immersive performance, Houseworld, including many a song. This February and March, creator Andrew Hoepfner is premiering new music for Houseworld in a unique concert.

Help us secure our next property

Our plans for our upcoming fourth immersive performance are ambitious. We’re going create a nightlife hub in New York City. In addition to our performance space, it will contain a bar, a restaurant, and a secondary venue. It’s now November of 2023 and we’ve found the property in Bushwick, Brooklyn that would be perfect for our destination. If you would like to invest in the future of Houseworld and help us secure this building, write us at houseworld@houseworld.nyc. We have this one page deck which explains the basics, and we can email you a more detailed deck if you’d like to consider taking part in our plan.

HOUSEWORLD

Our first performance, Houseworld, made its debut in 2014. In Houseworld, guests enter an old house and step inside a dream. The basement embodies the underbelly of the psyche, while serenity radiates on the upper floor, and a playfulness inhabits the floors in between. One locked door in the house has never been opened. This door is said to lead to The Light. Due to the arrival of the outsiders, the house’s residents believe that maybe tonight is the night that the door to The Light will finally be unlocked.

BOTTOM OF THE OCEAN

Bottom Of The Ocean is our most recent performance, opening in 2021 and running for the whole of 2022. In BOTO, an audience of five is guided through a surreal ritual. Through introspection, catharsis, and connection, our visitors dive into the self.

“Themes of change, death and rebirth abound in this peculiar production, a triumph of style and low-budget ingenuity.”

The New York Times Critic’s Pick review of Bottom Of The Ocean August 2022

“While exploring an alien world, and taking part in the most unusual of rituals, I somehow feel completely catered and cared for. In short, BOTO is beautiful, unique, and has my absolute highest recommendation possible.” - The No Proscenium Review November 2021

CREATOR ANDREW HOEPFNER

Houseworld Immersive is led by Andrew Hoepfner. Hoepfner spent his 20s as a touring musician before falling in love with the form of immersive theater in 2014. Beyond the three major works of Houseworld Immersive, Hoepfner has created an immersive dinner gala for The Future Of Storytelling, immersive installations at Elements Festival, an immersive musical at Ars Nova’s Ant Fest, and collaborated on an immersive wedding. As the Artistic Director of Gymnopedie, Hoepfner facilitates the sharing of his Bushwick arts venue with other musicians, fashion designers, dancers, and filmmakers. A sound bath enthusiast, Hoepfner has presented sound baths through his distinctly theatrical series, Waves. He works as an educator in the experiential arts through his workshop, Making Immersive Theater. Hoepfner has collaborated with David Byrne, Young Jean Lee, and Cesar Alvarez.
